Biography
With this brief history of my life, I hope to help you understand my design work more fully. I include this picture of my ‘trunk’ for my first ‘Trunk Show’ to show that we may have started off small, but have never lost our sense of elegance or fun.

Born in Livorno, Italy of American parents

As a child, traveled widely with my military family, living in Japan, some of the United States and the Caribbean

Graduated from Antilles High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Attended the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a fine arts major

Attended Jacksonville University, in Jacksonville, Florida as an art history major

Attended the Maryland institute College of Art, in Baltimore, Maryland,as a painting/drawing major

Attended the Rietveld Academie, in the Netherlands, as a foreign student studying weaving with Herman Scholten.

Married Stephen Lewis Zimmer in Schmallenberg, Germany

Moved to a farm in Little Compton, Rhode Island

Gave birth to a son, Auryn Leif Zimmer and later a daughter, Camilla Deborah Rose Zimmer

Started Seaweave, a commission-based weaving business, making wool/&/or cotton blankets and rugs

Illustrated a children’s book written by Carole Addabbo called Dina the Deaf Dinosaur, published by Hannacroix Creek

Started work on illustrations for a book called The Tree and the Moon, which is the beginning of my continuing love

Moved to Santa Rosa, California

Worked in sales for Wolford and Co in Montgomery Village, Santa Rose, California

Worked as a decorative painter for Bob Fox and Larry Ballard

Earned my California Contractors License for painting and decorating

Started Faux Made Real, a decorative painting company with three other painters, as the license holder

Accepted to an Open Studio Tour, Artrails, in Sonoma County, California, as a paper artist

Started studying Photoshop in the computer and created my current business, Green Lotus Fabric Design
